Series of 25 photographs
In Ciało (Polish for “body”), Wiktoria delve into her first communion ceremony. In this photography series, she reframed the pictures taken that day to focus on the white dress she wore. It is an opportunity for her to examine, alternating between observing and questioning, the education and religion she had received, the symbolic dimension of the white color, and her relation to the body in this context. The series is associated with present-day self-portraits she made using her dad’s analog camera – the same one he used to document her first communion ceremony.
